I had the privilege of hosting Mohawk Family Night last night at the Family Circle Cup and what a night it was:

Like I mentioned before, this was a night of mess-making on SmartStrand with DuPont Sorona carpet designed to really put it to the test. What better group of experts to have on hand but the mess-makers themselves- kids!

As you can see, we had a great time and SmartStrand was an exceptionally soft canvas for our activities. I even got to represent Mohawk during the official coin toss for the main court match- a true honor!

We’ve got more clips to come including how SmartStrand performed after Family Night and you won’t want to miss this…

You know something I love about working with Mohawk SmartStrand with DuPont Sorona? To show off SmartStrand’s permanent stain protection, we are often making a huge mess in the process!

Wednesday, April 14th is no exception when I’ll be hosting Mohawk Family Night on the Grand Lawn at the Family Circle Tennis Center. This is definitely a great night to bring the whole family because Mohawk is treating kids 16 and under to free admission on Wednesday night when accompanied by an adult and adult tickets are only $10 each.

And then there’s the actitivities! In addition to face painting, autograph sessions, and contests to win prizes, we’ve got some messy, fun-filled games that will actually take place on Mohawk SmartStrand with DuPont Sorona carpet. We’re going to be Bowling For Disaster, running Red Punch Relays, and trying our luck at Balloon Bursts.

This event starts at 4:00 PM and ends at 7:00 PM, right before the evening tennis action is underway. The best part: the SmartStrand will then be cleaned live on the Family Circle Stadium Jumbotron between tennis matches for everyone to see how amazing it performs.

I can’t wait to see this evening take place, it’s definitely not the typical family night!

The year 2010 is still young, but it has already been a very productive and busy one! I’ve got a lot of exciting things to talk about, one that is very close on the horizon.

I’ll be back in action with Mohawk at the 2010 Family Circle Cup taking place in Charleston and Daniel Island, South Carolina beginning April 10th through April 19th. This is one of the premier tournaments on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, one of the most significant in all of women’s professional tennis.

SmartStrand FCCIn addition to watching the stellar tennis matches, I’ll be helping Mohawk showcase their SmartStrand with DuPont Sorona carpet once more.

If you remember last summer when we held the SmartStrand Challenge at the Birmingham Zoo, my friend Ricko the 2,800 pound black rhino was no match for this impressive carpet.

Well this time, we’ve decided to give humans the chance to put it to the test. On Wednesday, April 14th, I’ll be hosting Mohawk’s Family Night on the Grand Lawn at the Family Circle Tennis Center. We’ve got a night planned of fun family activities all taking place on SmartStrand carpet designed to get it absolutely ruined.

I’ll have more details this weekend, make sure to check out the kickoff this Saturday on ESPN2!

I first announced back in May that I had begun shooting my new show, Curb Appeal: The Block. We’re currently continuing to shoot episodes and, so far, working on the series has been a really unique experience! What I’ve enjoyed about working on this show is that the nature of it is so much more realistic than other home improvement and renovation programs. Curb Appeal showcases the personalities of both the homeowners and my team as we interact and work together. The show really makes a point to highlight the entire process of undertaking complex renovation projects (arguments, laughter, tears and all)!

The first episode premiered on January 1st and future episodes will continue to air every Saturday at 9:30PM EST on HGTV, with reruns playing at various times throughout the week. Click here for a sneak peak at what you can look forward to seeing on the episode airing this Saturday, January 16th.

Thanks for tuning in to Curb Appeal!
