As I announced in a previous post, I launched my Atlanta-based company, Wade Taylor, LLC, last year. I am excited to announce that we’ve decided to expand our portfolio of services to include several options for clients in addition to unique design and build. To reflect the diverse range of services we offer, we decided to change our name to Wade Works!

We’ve had a fantastic time so far working with clients on a number of projects, including building out custom model homes and providing design consulting. We’re eager to take on more projects, so click on “Contact Chip” if you’re interested in learning more about any of our services!

I started building my dream custom fabrication workshop in September of 2008 and I reported the status of my progress on it back in the spring of last year. I’ve been working hard on it since then and I am so happy to announce that it is finally all decked out and ready to roll!
It’s great to have my own place, just a stone’s throw from my house, where I can focus on creating custom pieces. Here are some candid pictures taken of me hard at work (and play) in my newly completed man cave, er, workshop! I have a feeling I’ll be spending a lot of my time in 2010 in here.

I hope you’ve been keeping a close eye on the SmartStrand Challenge presented by Mohawk & DuPont like I have. This demonstration is now over a week in and Ricko the rhino has not been taking it easy on his SmartStrand at all! Mohawk just sent over this video, an exclusive update on the Challenge straight from the Rhino Encounter at the Birmingham Zoo:
I’m glad to see that Ricko is thoroughly enjoying his SmartStrand and the enclosure that I designed for him. I think he’s giving Mohawk exactly what they signed up for- reckless abandon from the ultimate 12-year-old! And while it’s wonderful that Ricko is having a great time, it leads me to one question: How does Mohawk plan on cleaning this up? (They never really told me how they plan to do that; I hope I’m not part of the clean-up committee…)
The SmartStrand Challenge is being broadcast LIVE this very minute on webcams at: http://www.smartstrandchallenge.com/see.html . Make sure that you follow along for all of Ricko’s adventures and the resolution of the SmartStrand Challenge. This is going to be interesting…

This morning, www.FloorDaily.net was kind enough to have me on for a live interview regarding my involvement with the SmartStrand Challenge presented by Mohawk & DuPont. I spoke with host Kemp Harr at length about the impressive attributes of SmartStrand, the innovative carpet challenge, working with the Birmingham Zoo, and Ricko himself.
I had a great time explaining the details and you can listen to the audio of my interview at the following link:

The coverage of the SmartStrand Challenge has been remarkable thus far and deservedly so. We still have some media outlets in line that will really get the word out. Thanks for continuing to follow my whereabouts and make sure to follow the SmartStrand Challenge as well!

The SmartStrand Challenge has officially started! Today, I’m back at the Birmingham Zoo broadcasting live from Ricko the Rhino’s carpeted enclosure across the nation with Dr. Bill Foster, director here at the zoo. We’re having a great time getting the word out and Ricko has been an incredible co-star.
You can follow our satellite media tour on Ricko’s personal Facebook page www.facebook.com/RickoRhino and on his Twitter stream www.twitter.com/rickotherhino. The response has already been tremendous and I can only imagine where this event will reach as the publicity grows. I know Ricko would love to hear from you as well.
Make sure to watch the action on www.SmartStrandChallenge.com because Ricko’s rhinocams are live and streaming. His adventures on SmartStrand are being captured around the clock and trust me, Ricko is extremely entertaining.
Let me know if you us on TV or hear us on radio- we’re coming to a city near you.
