I’ve got some exciting news to share with you! As you may know, I’ve been the carpenter on HGTV’s Designed to Sell for the past several years. I’ve had a blast transforming outdated homes into hot properties, while maximizing homeowners’ dollars. Now, I am thrilled to tell you that I’ll be starring as a contractor on HGTV’s all new series, Curb Appeal the Block.
Curb Appeal the Block is different from any home design and renovation show you’ve seen before. Each episode, I’ll be tackling projects that focus on heightening the beauty and value of homes through exterior renovations, front façades and unique landscaping techniques. Wondering how that’s different from other shows? The cool thing about this series is that on each episode I’ll perform a $20,000 makeover on a house, while completing renovation projects on accessory houses in the neighborhood to improve the curb appeal of the entire block!
Designer John Gidding will team up with my custom design and construction company, Wade Taylor Unique Design Build, to transform neighborhoods, one front yard at a time. Expect tons of design and landscaping tips mixed in with all of the surprises that make reality shows irresistibly fun to watch!
We’re scheduled to start shooting Curb Appeal the Block next week. I can hardly wait to roll up my sleeves and get busy! The show will premiere in spring, 2010. Until then, you can catch me on Designed to Sell on HGTV.

We just caught an episode of your new show and are really enjoying it. We were wondering though, how do you find the houses that you makeover? Is there some contest or entry of some sorts?
We hope your show makes it big and we will continue to watch it.

LOVE the show! Could you please consider doing some things to the City of Atlanta also?! Other major cities look clean and landscaped. Some places in Atlanta do, and so many others places don’t! Sydney Marcus Blvd. is aweful! The downtown connector is aweful. Most of the exits are aweful!
How about considering some areas in East Lake, Atlanta? Kirkwood!
Great jobs to all of you for what you have done, and are doing!

Please let us know if there is a way to nominate a house. I inherited my parent’s house when I was 11 years old. I have done my very best to make it a beautiful home but have had a hard time with limited funds. My house is easily the ugliest on the block and it is quite embarrassing. My neighbor’s have even gone as far as giving me some of their plants to help spruce it up. Gotta love ‘em!

Hi,
I enjoy your show. It is amazing how you can transform an ugly home to treasure. My name is Betty Johnson. I live at 324 Wood Avenue, Boston, MA. I would like to nominate my house and a few of my neighbor homes? I had someone helping me fix my home, but he had an aneurism then a stroke, leaving at a loss of what to do and how to do it with minimal funds. Please help me and my neighbors.
I can be reach by email or phone (617-438-1262).
Thanks in advance for your help,

I just wanted to say how much I enjoy the new show “Curb Appeal/ The Block. I just wish that is could be an hour show. They have “Holmes on Homes on there for an hour, so I think this show is much better & would love it if they would extend it to an hour. Would be so worh it. I think that Chip has a fantastic personality on that show. A great addition & I also Love John Giddeon. Two of my favorite’s. I watch HGTV almost exclusively, though they do tend to repeat a lot of their program.s Keep up the great program & again I hope it goes to an hour show.
Thank’s, Jane

Want to say what a great show I think Curb Appeal/The Block is. I think that is a fantastic way to make the neighborhood look fantastic. I think that John Gidding is one of the best designer’s I have seen. I have set my TV to tape your show’s. Do not want to miss any of them. I just wish that it was an hour show instead of a half hour.
Chip, I wish you & John & the rest of the team the very best of luck with your new show. I live in St.Peters, MO which is a suburb of St.Louis,MO. To bad your not in MO.
Again Good Luck

Love the show!!! I am wandering the same thing as all these other post? I do not see a reply/answer to any of them.

We live in PineLake, Georgia, in a 1950’s ranch. My husband is in the military, and is constantly deploying, which makes it hard to renevate our home. Our basement was flooded by the 100 year flood last fall, and he was in Iraq at the time.
This area would be perfect for your show. Please come by, and check it out. Thanks.

Greetings~
I was wondering if I can nominate an area of my city, Albany, NY, that I do not live in? There is a main street that is undergoing a transformation with road repairs, business revitalization, etc., but the houses are run down. It looks like a great location to live in, but needs beautification seriously. There is a brand new public library, arts movie theater, restaurants, and a fairly busy road that is one of the main entrances to our city. Could be extremely charming, but not unless there is organization behind the renovation. Thanks for the good works you are doing!

I love this show. I watch HGTV all the time and this is by far the best show. We bought our house in 2005 and have done some work in the interior but none outside due to financial reasons and medical reasons as well. Our neighborhood needs alot of help including our home and several homes on our block. We live just one block from the bay overlooking NYC skyline. This neighborhood could be so much better with a little TLC from your team. The beach could use some help as well. Our front yard has no appeal to it and no color, just plain white. The back yard is just dirt and several tall trees. Please help us out as well as our neighbors. I am your biggest fan from Middletown NJ.
